About Underground Irrigation Systems

Will an automatic irrigation system use more water than I am currently using?

No. In fact, an automatic sprinkler system may actually save you water. A well designed, efficient system applies exactly the amount of water needed by your landscape. You will never again have to worry about wasting water if you forget to turn off the hose. Plus, with a rain sensor, your system will know when it's raining and simply turn itself off when water is not needed.

Does having an irrigation system really save me time?

Yes. You wont have to spend another minute of the valuable leisure time watering the lawn. Your new system will do all the watering for you, even when you are away from home!

What are the components of an automatic irrigation system?

A typical system is comprised of a controller (which functions as the brains of the system), valves (which open and close to release and stop the flow of water to underground pipes) and sprinklers (which distribute water to specific areas). Your system can be customized further with the addition of a rain sensor.

How much will a good irrigation system cost?

The price of a system depends upon many factors such as property size, soil type, landscaping, number of zones, products used and special designs.

How can I be sure I will get a quality system?

A quality system is flexible enough for your watering needs. It puts the right amount of water where you need it and will continue to operate year after year with minimal maintenance. Your system will ultimately depend on three things. The quality of the components, the design of the system and the actual installation. Carefree Irrigation uses and installs only the highest quality

irrigation equipment on the market. See our Products Page to view and read about the components we use.

Why do I have to have a backflow device?

Lawn irrigation systems that are directly connected to your city water supply, must meet local codes regarding backflow devices. These devices prevent water from being siphoned back into the water supply.

What kind of warranty can I expect from a system installed by Carefree Irrigation?

All of our systems come with a 3 year warranty on parts and a one year warranty on labor. Parts are warranted against manufacturer's defects only. We are not liable for destruction by lawn equipment or vandalism.
